The Scoop on Ski & Snowboard Instructor Courses Pre, During and Post OlympicsIn 2010 Whistler will play host to the alpine events for the Winter Olympic and Para Olympic Games. Next season will be an amazing time to be in Whistler! Pre-Olympics, the resort vibe will be reaching epic proportions as the community readies itself to welcome the world. There will be a multitude of concerts, events and additional things to see and do in the lead up to the big event including the Whistler Film Festival. Post Olympics, there will still be much to celebrate, with the Para Olympic Games in March, the epic Telus World Ski and Snowboard Festival in April, longer days and warmer temperatures! Why are we not running instructor courses during the Olympics? As locals, we know and have been advised that there will be many challenges living and working here during the Olympic period. Transportation throughout the community will be restricted and challenging throughout the Games; prices will be inflated; several areas of the mountain will be off limits due to Olympic events; many restaurants, bars and clubs have been rented out during this time and security everywhere in Whistler will be extremely tight. We want you to experience all of Whistler – ski where you want; go where you want, when you want; without any of the challenges that hosting a massive world class event can bring with it. Call us - we would love to talk about it more with you! Whistler’s Variety, Choice and FlexibilityFor any extended length of stay, Whistler is the best pick for a resort that offers EVERYTHING! As well as all of the amazing mountain features, Whistler is a four season resort with an established permanent community. This offers our visitors all of the wonderful mountain resort facilities, plus a huge variety of other activities like dog sledding, snowmobiling, bungee jumping, cat skiing; great restaurants; amazing pubs and clubs; movie theatres, gyms, swimming pool, ice rink, and tons of shopping. You will never get bored in Whistler!!! On the practical side there are also world class medical facilities, a large variety of clinics, doctors, dentists, physiotherapists and chiropractors. So any sniffles or aches and pains (after tearing up the mountain!) can be easily remedied. An easy hour and a half’s drive away is the vibrant city of Vancouver. There are lots of options for city visits and we would be happy to assist in arranging those for you… catch a hockey game; go site seeing; try night skiing/boarding at Cypress or Grouse Mountains. The options are endless!
